Association of Lighting Authors invites you next Friday 25th of November to the facilities of our friends and collaborators CIFP José Luis Garci where will take place the talk that Ben Díaz about LEDs. We give you a preview of some of the content:

“Beyond the user: Things about LEDs they don’t tell you”.

This global retrospective on the world of LED luminaires attempts to informally, briefly and entertainingly expose various key technical parameters to understand an industry in which it is increasingly difficult to find one’s way around. LED technology has evolved exponentially in recent years, despite having its origins in the 1920s. Today we are at the eternally promised moment: that turning point where professional LED lighting goes from being “the light of the future” to consolidating itself as the reigning technology of the present. Through the use of different examples and the explanation of processes not well known by the user, this talk presents an analysis of the different types of LED luminaires not only from the point of view of the illuminator but also from the perspective of the technician, the supplier, the customer, the distributor and above all the manufacturer, who is ultimately the one who most strongly influences the development of the industry.

Beyond electronics and lighting theory, the implications of LEDs are enormous in terms of production processes and commercial implementation. The lack of standards and clear information makes it difficult to navigate in this environment. The talk aims to put on the table several keys to avoid getting lost among the different specifications, defending the informed choice based on consistent parameters without forgetting that light has a much broader significance than its own technical implications. The demand of the professional user is clear: Understanding LED lighting is useful as long as it offers solutions and not permanent confusion. We live in a time when the dialogue between users, suppliers and manufacturers is more open than ever; taking it to the next level is a joint responsibility and a pressing need.
