The Umbra Light Festival Vitoria-Gasteiz will be held in Vitoria on the 21st, 22nd and 23rd of February, where 18 installations of national and international artists will participate with sculptures and light projections created using different light techniques.
With the slogan ‘Urbanisms of light. New urban landscapesThis first edition of the festival, whose creators are Joaquín Pérez-Goicoechea, Rafael Gallego and Carlos Torrijos (AAI), will fill the public spaces and emblematic buildings of the capital of Alava with light and art. Light will be the main protagonist of the works, but there will also be compositions with movement, music, etc.
The choice of the term ‘umbra‘ to name the festival facilitates its international promotion as it is “a word whose meaning linked to light (shadow) is recognised and recognisable to more than 2,000 million speakers”.
The event is supported by the Vitoria City Council, the Provincial Council and the Basque Government, with the collaboration of Associations such as AAI, APDI, and companies such as EES, STONEX, PERONI or PROLUZ.
