Crossed glances

The Asociación de Autores de Iluminación (AAI), in collaboration with the Centro Coreográfico de Danza María Páges and the Fuenlabrada Town Hall, presented the colloquium ‘Miradas cruzadas: coreógrafos e iluminadores ‘en busca de la luz’ (Crossed gazes: choreographers and lighting designers ‘in search of light’) on December 3rd at the Centro Coreográfico María Pagés.

The María Pagés Centre in Fuenlabrada brings together choreographers and illuminators

The María Pagés Choreography Centre in Fuenlabrada is hosting this event in which eight renowned professionals are taking part to share their experiences and knowledge of the world of dance Crossed Gazes is the title of the Conference for choreographers and lighting designers that is being held today at the CCMPF, the María Pagés Choreography Centre in Fuenlabrada. This is one more of the periodic meetings that the Centre organises with the aim of being a meeting point for the different professionals related to the world of dance. Last October it hosted a meeting attended by international businesswomen, choreographers and dancers to discuss choreography and gender. And next March they will organize another one for sound technicians. Among those attending today’s event are renowned choreography and lighting professionals, including a 2018 National Dance Award winner, choreographer and dancer Antonio Ruz. In addition to Rafaela Carrasco, choreographer, dancer and professor of Flamenco Dance; Juanjo Llorens, lighting, technical director and teacher, winner of several awards, including a Max; Olga García, dance lighting specialist; Asún Noales; Pau Fullana and Gloria Montesinos as well as María Pagés herself.Miradas cruzadas, Day for choreographers and lighting designers at the CCMPF The presentation of this day, Miradas Cruzadas. Choreographers and lighting designers in search of light, was given by the local Councillor for Culture, Mónica Sebastián, the President of the Association of Lighting Authors of Spain, Juan Gómez-Cornejo, and the director of the María Pagés Choreography Centre in Fuenlabrada, El Arbi El Harti. The councillor recalled the objectives of this centre, made possible thanks to the agreement reached between the Fuenlabrada City Council and the Foundation that bears the bailaora’s name: “To create a space open to creation and to the public. A place for permanent artistic experimentation where exploration, coexistence and the exchange of knowledge about the Spanish choreographic heritage is encouraged”. The director of the Centre, El Arbi El Harti, has once again made clear the unconditional support that the City Council gives to this project, “Fuenlabrada does make it possible for utopias to become a reality. This space wants to grow together and become a House of Dance open to the whole world of dance, both to the choreographic world but also to the professions that revolve around dance.
