As part of the event“Design, Art, Technology 25 YEARS OF ENCOUNTERS“, the Association of Lighting and Video Scene Authors has named the esteemed designer Juan Gómez-Cornejo as honorary member.
A founding member of the AAI in 1998 and president from 2012 to 2020, he has worked professionally in the Theater since 1980, alternating duties as Illuminator and technical director.
He is currently dedicated exclusively to lighting design, work for which he has been recognized and awarded on several occasions. Among others, he has received four Max Awards, five ADE awards, Ceres Award. He has been recognized with the Medal of Fine Arts of Castilla la Mancha.
In 2011 she was awarded the National Theater Award and in 2024 she was awarded the Gold Medal of Merit in the Fine Arts.
He collaborates as a lighting designer in various artistic disciplines with great directors of Theater, Opera, Zarzuela, Musicals and great dance choreographers, in prestigious public and private theaters.
He has represented Spain in the Fragments Exhibition, within the Prague Quadrennial 2019 with the piece Lighting for Pandur. Fragments of the Soul.
He regularly collaborates as a teacher in the Master of Theatrical Creation, taught at the Carlos III University and directed by Juan Mayorga.
