Born in Manchester, he studied music at Salford University (UK) and Lighting Design at RADA and Yale School of Drama (USA). He has also studied architecture at the University of North London.
He has designed lighting for theatre, opera and ballet in multiple theatres and companies around the world.
He is Lighting Manager at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden.
His work on “Scenes from an Execution” and “In a Minor Key” has been nominated for awards in Scotland and Russia and “The Tempest” filmed and broadcast by the BBC.
In December 2013 while lighting the opera “Cendrillon” at the Teatro del Liceo in Barcelona he participated in a “Meeting of Light” and was appointed Guest Partner.
