Lucía Sánchez-Roldán, partner of AAI, winner of the Michael Northen Award for Lighting Design awarded by the ALD.

Lucía Sánchez-Roldán, partner of the Asociación de Autores de Iluminación, received the Michael Northen Award for Lighting Design granted by the Association of Lighting Designers (ALD), within the ALD Awards for Excellence 2019 last December.

The awards celebrate the world of lighting and video production, giving young designers the opportunity to showcase their talent and showcase their work to the industry’s established lighting and video designers.

The Michael Northen Award, named after the UK’s first accredited lighting designer, was jointly awarded to Lucia Sanchez-Roldan and Ryan Joseph Stafford and presented by DLA President Johanna Town.

The work of the promising young artist was described as ‘beautiful…with a solid design, clear decisions and excellent angles’.
