The Association of Authors of Illumination
wants to share the beginning of the year with an enriching activity in which we will get together and share a guided visit in
Reina Sofia Museum of Art and we will enjoy an artist, awarded with the Princess of Asturias Award for the Arts 2017 and that we have rarely seen him in museums in Spain, William Kentridge.
Enough and to spare
is the first exhibition to date to explore William Kentridge ‘s visual production from his theatre, opera and performance projects.
The backbone of the exhibition comprises a selection of seven theatre and opera pieces “orchestrated” by William Kentridge. The plays are
Woyzeck on the Highveld
(Woyzeck on the High Veld, 1992),
Faustus in Africa!
(Faustus in Africa!, 1995) and
Ubu and the Truth Commission
(Ubu and the Truth Commission, 1997). While the operas are
The return of Ulisse
(The Return of Ulysses, 1998),
The Nose
(The Nose, 2010),
Lulu
(Lulu, 2015) and
Wozzeck
(2017).
