The First Edition of the LuzMadrid International Festival is coming! From 29th to 31st October the Festival Luz Madrid will show the creations of more than 20 artists in emblematic places of the city, with installations by our members Juanjo Llorens, Maxi Gilbert and Juan A. Fuentes Muñoz. The AAI will be present at the festival with a light installation by Juan Fuentes, chosen through a competition among twelve proposals and selected by a jury composed of international curators, national artists, festival organizers and members of the AAI Board.
Madrid and its unmistakable sky. Madrid and its vibrant cultural life. Madrid… and its nights. Both locals and those who have ever visited our city know that Madrid’s nightlife has always shone with its own light. From the City Council, this autumn we want to amplify that light and turn it into pure enjoyment and art, multiply by a thousand the brightness of our late hours and fill our streets with a dazzling experience to which everyone is invited. As autumn advances, the days get shorter but the nights get longer, the streets become ours again and Madrid offers us the most beautiful way to celebrate it: welcome to LuzMadrid, a unique and exceptional opportunity to meet again in a big way with the Madrid night, to rediscover with a different look its streets and squares, its monuments, its emblematic places or its most unusual corners. With enthusiasm, joy, excitement and with more brightness than we could have ever imagined, we are going to recover in style that nocturnal and magical Madrid that we enjoy so much.LuzMadrid will be the first edition of the International Festival of Light in our capital, framed within the prestigious network of Light Festivals held in various cities of the European Union: Lyon, Frankfurt, Brussels, Lisbon, Tallinn, Eindhoven, Turin … Thus, Madrid joins a cultural tradition that began in the mid-90s where light is the protagonist and the nights are transformed into resplendent celebrations of art and creativity.
