The AAI once again organizes the XVII Meeting of the Light with
Jean Kalman
and the play Billy Budd together with the collaboration of the
Royal Theatre
. We will have the opportunity to enjoy the Pre-general rehearsal on Saturday 28th January at 18:00.

Born in Paris, Jean Kalman offers us an extensive biography where we can observe works as important as his debut with the Royal Opera in “La Traviata” and has obtained nominations as important as the Drama Desk Award for Best Lighting Design or Laurence Olivier Award for Best Lighting Design, in this case offers us this Encounter on the premiere of the “La Traviata”. by Benjamin Britten. It tells the story of the sailor Billy Budd: a beautiful, loyal, generous, strong, naive and kind young man who manages to unhinge with his beauty and personality the master-at-arms of the ship, who is unable to channel the situation, and crucifies the naive without regard.
This new production of the Teatro Real is presented for the first time in Madrid, in co-production with the Opéra national de Paris, under the direction of Deborah Warner, one of the great names in stage direction today. You can find more info at
