(Vice President AAI) participates in the round table VESTIR LA DANZA that will take place on Friday June 9 at 13:00, along with Inés Narváez and Yaiza Pinillos.
The costume of a dancer, dancer, performer or interpreter, should have the virtue of influencing the nature of their movements regardless of the genre they represent: Classical dance, which began with heavy costumes, has been changing in its essence and today a tutu could be traced by a simple neon hoop. In Spanish dance, the attire with which bailaoras and cantaoras have flourished on stage throughout history has gone from being baroque and overloaded with lace and satin ribbons to being stripped of ornaments and starch to become vaporous, light and sensual. Contemporary dance, which originally resorted to total freedom in its attire, facilitating, above all, the free movement of the dancers, has been stripping down and dressing up over the years, finding its maximum expressiveness in the opposite poles: street clothes and the most current technology. For all these reasons, dance, which is an art that experiments and renews itself tirelessly, is always a valuable bet for the Figurinists.
